A town, a man

The strategic location of Ferney, near Geneva and far from Paris, brought Voltaire to settle in the village that he would devote himself to developing during the last two decades of his life. At once gentleman-farmer, architect, town-planner and builder, Voltaire transformed Ferney into a prosperous community. A ninety-minute guided tour throught the streets of Ferney-Voltaire enables you to discover Voltaire, the founder and creator of the town that bears his name.
